HEALTH & SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

Draper’s Civil Contracting Pty Ltd recognises its moral and legal responsibility to:-

• Provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees, and the public.
• Ensure that the local community and public are protected against injury or illness.
• Ensure the environment is protected at all times from damage due to the works.

Draper’s Civil Contracting Pty Ltd is a diverse civil works construction company, which is dependent on mobility to ensure continuous work.
The company is very committed to continual improvement and expects this commitment to be matched by that of its employees. Training and supervision is programmed and planned to reinforce and develop this commitment, by both the company and the employees.

Objectives

The policy aims to:-

• Provide safe and environmentally sensitive methods of work and operation of plant,
• Provide written procedures and instruction where necessary to ensure implementation of the systems of work or plant operation,
• Ensure the company complies with legislation and encourages employees to match industry standards and best practices for safety and environmental management,
• Provide regular instruction, training and supervision to ensure the safety of employees, visitors and the public. Ensure protection of the environment,
• Provide support mechanisms to monitor and assist employees to maintain or improve their own health,
• Provide necessary support and rehabilitation of injured or disabled employees such that they might return to work wherever possible.

Management Responsibilities

Management in conjunction with the Safety/Environmental Coordinator are responsible for implementing this policy.

Employee Responsibilities

Employees will ensure that they:-

• Follow procedures and policies established for their safety, and the protection of the environment including wearing of protective equipment,
• Accept willingly directions or supervision that relate to their safety, the protection of the public or the environment.
• Report all potential or actual H&S or Environmental Hazards to the management immediately.

Consultation

Consultation between employees and management is encouraged at all times, and arranged formally by holding regular Site Meetings to consider the Health, Safety and Environmental issues relevant to Draper’s Civil Contracting Pty Ltd.
