Rarely, in my more than 25 years as an engineer in the construction industry, have I had occasion to write a letter of acknowledgement to a subcontractor regarding the performance of their crew prior to the subcontracted works for the entire project being completed on site.

However, following your construction works at Koroit and as your work on the 110mm gas main construction stage in Port Fairy draws to a close, it is appropriate that special attention be made of:

As further crew are to be appointed to this project in the near future, I am hoping that you will select field staff of similar calibre in order to maintain the standard which Tony McElroy has now set and which I am confident to use as a benchmark for others.

Kororoit Creek Crossing Caroline Springs Reinforcement 365m 200mm steel in extreme conditions completed on time to ovoid supply problems. Service Laying – Existing Housing developments Provision of domestic supplies to residential developments within the City of Greater Geelong and the Surf Coast Shire for AbiGroup / Tenix. Bellarine Peninsula – Stage 2 rollout Approx. 2.0km of 63mm PE to service existing residential areas in St. Leonards and Indented Head. Bairnsdale Gas – Origin Energy 4.0km of 125mm PE supply main along McKean Street, Princes Highway, Bairnsdale as part of Origin Energies roll out of reticulation gas supply to the Bairnsdale Township. Gas Supply Main from Waurn Ponds to Torquay - Client: Westar. Civil work included the welding (butt and electro-fusion) and installation of approximately 15.0km of 180mm diameter HDPE pipe.
